The timing of this evolution of gambling alongside that of live television and journalism (and how leagues and news outlets can profit) is going to continue to change the way we watch and read about sports. We’ll see fewer broadcast restrictions, blackouts, exclusive deals, and paywalls and a lot more gambling marketing nestled into the broadcasts, the press box, and other news genres. It’s going to get ugly and it’s not likely to change anytime soon with a judiciary that abhors corporate regulation.

There are many more ties that probably have not been reported. I see no non-trade press coverage of the deal between Gambling.com and McClatchy, for example: https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/gamblingcom-group-and-mcclatchy-sign-strategic-sports-betting-partnership-301462341.html "The proliferation of online sports betting across the U.S. provides an opportunity for McClatchy to increase their monetization of real money gaming.
