So great to hear. I’m very curious if they’d be open to an even lower tier for independent journalists

Worth people inquiring with the broker, although I know underwriting is considered harder for solo operators.

Thank you Dick, this is a fantastic new offering for small newsrooms in America and it's great to see AXIS is leading the way with a creative solution to a very real problem.

Reporters Shield is offering newsrooms with insurance, legal services to prevent and respond to legal threats. In the present climate it is vitally important to complete libel risk assessments before publication and not to capitulate when a formal threat of legal action is received. Reporters Shield's member benefits include legal risk assessments and professionally drafted response letters to legal threats. This is the preventative legal work that greatly reduces the chilling effect of SLAPPs and other vexatious lawsuits.

Reporters Shield not only compliments insurance by providing preventative legal services; it also offers the options of having an additional $500k of excess defense costs, and/or covers 50% of the deductible should you need to claim.

We think RS is an excellent complement to this program, email me on clothilde.redfern@reporters-shield.org if you'd like to know more.

This is a great service you all have done -- I'll be sharing it with local, independent newsrooms.

Yes, sorry. A box was mistakenly checked at EPIC, and has now been unchecked, and email is working. Meanwhile, his phone worked all along; I talked to him, as have potential insureds.
