I was just at a focus group for a Massachusetts news outlet. Mass is one of the few states with a governor not agreeing with the administration. It's a lifeboat for democracy. Yet the new Editor is focused on newsletter product details.
I really don't get it. I think our country is losing democratic safeguards every day. Once autocracy takes hold, suppression doesn't just disappear. Losses of freedom can be permanent. Do people, and especially newspeople, not understand this?
Adding: What is the protocol for declaring "CopSec"? Does that term precede all classified exchanges? Who makes that determination? Is Signal a technology that qualifies for "CopSec"?
